Aims and Scope

 

Aims 

West Asia Political Research is an open-access, double-blind, peer-reviewed quarterly journal that provides a scholarly platform for both national and international scholars and researchers. The journal is dedicated to receiving, evaluating, and publishing high-quality articles that offer valuable insights for academics, researchers, and experts in the field studies of West Asia (the Middle East).

West Asia Political Research adopts a strategic, problem-oriented, and practical approach, focusing on the analysis of internal and external factors that influence politics, policy-making, governance (in its various forms), civil society, social movements, and geopolitical competitions at region. Additionally, the journal explores how these elements shape the regional order of West Asia. Interdisciplinary studies and innovative analyses using future-oriented research methods related to these topics are also welcomed.

 

Outlook

In pursuit of the following goals, Journal of West Asia Political Research examines and publishes the scientific contributions of researchers:

  • Producing scholarly resources and research in the fields of governance, policy-making, and the influencing factors on politics of West Asian countries.
  • Enhancing the quality of research related to political science, international relations, and regional studies.
  • Promoting the academic and research achievements of both Iranian and international scholars, students, and researchers.
  • Establishing scientific and scholarly collaborations between domestic and international researchers.
  • Updating and advancing knowledge in politics, international relations, and regional studies.
  • Facilitating systematic, research-based insights into the perspectives of Iranians on politics, international relations, and regional studies.
  • Applying the produced knowledge and research outcomes to meet the strategic and practical needs of policymakers, decision-makers, and organizations involved in West Asian issues.

  • Theoretical approaches, models and practical policies regarding the state, nation- state building, political system, governance and govern-mentality in the region of West Asia (Middle East).
  • Typology (forms, nature and function) of state, political system, polity, government and governance.
  • Pathology of the state, political system, political society, government and governance and providing appropriate solutions.
  •  Comparative study of state models in the west asia with the other parts of the world.
  • The political economy of the state and civil society and its impact on governance and development in the West Asia.
  • Participation of socio- political forces and activists (including political parties and currents, political ideologies, civil institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Islamic movements, social movements, religious, ethnic, linguistic identities, etc.) in governance and public policy process.
  • The impact of various forms of socio-political resistance and opposition (such as Islamic movements, social movements, social protests-civil disobedience, riots, uprisings, revolutions, coups, etc.) on government performance, governance and policy-making.
  • Everyday politics, life politics, Identity politics and its impact on governance and public policy Process.
